Shibui Homewares at 27 Vulture Street, West End, Brisbane opened in October 2003.
"Shibui" is a Japanese word, which means "refined and elegant beauty".
We stock an interesting mix of Japanese antique, vintage and new Japanese ceramics, Japanese antique furniture (including tea cabinets, sewing boxes, make-up mirrors, display cabinets & tansu) and restored mid-20th century Australian furniture.
We make a unique range of handbags from vintage Japanese kimono and obi silk exclusively for our store. We use new Japanese fabric in a range of products crafted specially for our store - placemats, table-runners and cushions.
Other products we stock include Japanese original woodblock prints, Japanese tea, Japanese incense, vintage Japanese kimono & yukata, Japanese paper, locally made jewellery, lighting, and many other unique items.
